Uniform

TWIZEL AREA SCHOOL UNIFORM

The following uniforms must be worn by all students from Year 1-13.  As Twizel weather is highly variable there is no winter or summer seasonal uniform.  Dress sensibly for the conditions.

NZ Uniforms supply our uniform items with the exception of shoes and the junior blue zip-up merino jersey. They run an efficient web based order system at Twizel Uniform from NZ Uniforms.

Uniforms are in-store in the Christchurch office of NZ Uniforms, 455 Blenheim Road, Sockburn, Christchurch 8042, telephone 03-595-576.

Shoes can be purchased from shoe retailers stocking school shoes.

YEARS 1-6

BOYS OR GIRLS CAN WEAR

• Polo Short Sleeved Shirt – red monogrammed – with option of navy or grey thermals underneath if it is cold,
• Kids’ Long Sleeved Polo – red monogrammed
• Kids’ Polar Fleece Top (short zip) – navy monogrammed
• Merino Zip Neck Monogrammed Jersey – navy (available to order from school)
• Wool Jersey – navy (not available online – personal choice)
• Straight Leg Fleece Trackpants – navy
• Sweat pants – navy
• Unisex Kids’ Drill Rugger Shorts – navy
• Own choice: Shoes, socks and /or sandals according to conditions, but footwear suitable for PE is required.

BOYS’ UNIFORM

• Drill Cargo Pocket Shorts – navy

GIRLS’ UNIFORM

• Culottes – navy
• Girls’ Skort – navy
• Inverted Pleat Skirt – navy

1. Sunhats- are compulsory. The school wide- brimmed hat is available from NZ Uniforms
2. Jewellery – A watch and one stud ear-ring in each ear only are permitted
3. Hair is to be a natural colour, long hair is to be tied back (off the face).
4. No make up is to be worn and student’s faces are expected to be clean shaven.

SPORTS DAYS

• Twizel Area School sports top to be provided for specific events
• Unisex Kids’ Drill Rugger Shorts – navy

BOYS – YEARS 7-10

• Standard Grey Shirt S/S or L/S
• Maroon V-neck Jersey – monogrammed
• Black Shorts
• Black Trousers
• Grey/Maroon Socks
• TAS PE T-shirt (Compulsory)
• Black Sports Shorts
• Puffa Jacket – Black

 BOYS – YEARS 11-13

• White Shirt S/S or L/S – must have top button to wear with a tie
• Black V-neck Jersey – monogrammed
• Black Shorts
• Black Trousers
• Grey/Maroon Socks
• Maroon Tie
• Blazer – monogrammed, (Compulsory Years 12-13)
• Puffa Jacket – Black

GIRLS – YEARS 7-10

• White Blouse S/S or L/S

• Black Skort or Uniform Short must be knee length
• Black Dress Trousers
• Plaid Skirt
• White Socks
• Black Tights
• TAS PE t-shirt – (Compulsory)
• Black Sports Shorts

GIRLS – YEARS 11-13

• White Blouse S/S  or L/S
• Black V-neck Jersey- monogrammed
• Black Skort or Uniform Short must be knee length

• Blazer- monogrammed, (Compulsory Years 12-13)

FOOTWEAR:  (To be purchased from your own retailer)
Toe covering shoes to be worn in practical classes and sports shoes for PE.

Boys
Plain black leather lace-up polishable shoes, (no suede, canvas or sneakers). Plain black leather sandals may be worn in the warmer months.

 Girls
Plain black leather polishable T-Bar, Mary Jane or lace-up styles – no high heels.  Plain black leather sandals may be worn in the warmer months.
